Performed by Hamlet
The theme of life and death is expressed by the vocabulary of fencing that appears in Act V. Hamlet famously ends with a fencing match, and it is the vivid jargon of fencing that provides us with the interjections here. Now Hamlet calmly observes the question he had in mind in his earlier song. When he is facing and accepting his own death (he says in the play ‘Let be, the readiness is all’), the motif of fencing stops. The conclusion of this concept album is a solo song for Hamlet without distortions by the external world as was the case in our previous soliloquy lyrics, and despite the fact that the style of the music is rather aggressive, we trust that we have conveyed an attitude of acceptance towards death.
